The re-imagined Type 904
A Lifelong Dream realised in the 21st century
About
“I’ve had this dream for a long time…”
From a childhood obsession to an engineering odyssey, this project was born out of a love for one of Porsche’s most iconic creations—the Type 904. Originally designed by a young Ferdinand “Butzi” Porsche and engineered to meet the FIA regulations of the time, the cutting edge 904 stood apart with its forward-thinking construction and striking aesthetic.
It was a giant killer—compact, nimble, and relentless. From the 1964 Targa Florio to the roots of the legendary 917, the DNA of Porsche’s prototype racing domination begins here.
“I looked around to find an authentic recreation of the Type 904, but it was almost impossible—availability, waiting lists… It turned the dream into a burning desire to build my own.”
And so it began—thousands of hours, painstaking research, and a relentless pursuit of precision.

2025: The Vision Becomes Real
A project that began as a dream now rolls toward reality. Every drawing, every weld, every part tells a story—not just of the 904, but of the person who refused to let the dream go.
Crafting the Legend: Our Step-by-Step Build Process

1. The Prototype CAD Drawing
Every CAD drawing, every 3D printed part is for critical evaluation and testing prior to going into production and manufacturing in metal.

2. Alloy 5083 Chassis Construction
After hundreds of hours of work, the 5083 aluminum chassis starts to take shape. The lightweight yet durable frame is the backbone of the car, ensuring strength and torsional rigidity.

3. CAD Front Suspension Design
We took the original drawings and turned it into a CAD drawing that became a 3D printed part. We adhere to the original design but utilising modern manufacturing techniques and materials.

4. Rear Suspension Sand Casting
We render the parts in 3D to create a 3D printed part utilised to be used as sand casting patterns to manufacture in the age old tradition of sand casting, followed by heat treatment and finally CNC machining.
